Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros made a name for themselves with their hit song, "Home," which was heavily featured in movies and television shows. Now, the band is on the road and they are bringing all thirteen members with them. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros tour dates are currently scheduled internationally throughout Summer, 2011.
The band is the brainchild of frontman Alex Ebert, who also fronts the electronic band, Ima Robot. Ebert states that contrary to popular belief, there is no Edward Sharpe, and that the moniker is most definitely not an alter ego of Alex Ebert. The band describes Ebert as "a madcap rock 'n roll shaman leading his exuberant troupe through their beatific, intricately embellished psycho-folk anthems." If that's not enough, the band consists of Ebert, and twelve other musicians who all share the stage for their performances.
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros concert dates initially included the multi-instrumental collection touring the country in a bus. They debuted themselves at West Hollywood's famed Troubadour in 2007 and hit the road. They recorded their debut album, "Up From Below," in 2009 and released it to critical acclaim. All songs were written by Ebert and the album was produced in the LA artists haven of Laurel Canyon. The album charted at #76 on the Billboard 200 and featured the haunting and melodic single, "Home." While the single was only a modest hit on radio, it was heavily licensed out to commercials, television, and movies. It was featured in the movie "Cyrus," a commercial for the NFL, and in the television shows "Community". and "Ugly Betty".
Since cutting the album, Ebert released a solo disc in 2011, and toured with his other project, Ima Robot. For 2011, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert dates have the band traveling around the United States and Europe to promote their record. In April, they will team up with Mumford & Sons on the "Railroad Revival Tour," which has the bands traveling via vintage rail cars across the southwest. In addition, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert dates have been booked in Europe throughout Summer, 2011. According to them, their shows will put you in a "state of joyous europhoria." Don't miss out when they visit your area. Use Eventful as your source for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert dates and tour information.
