Trans-Siberian Orchestra
While many rock and metal bands dabble with an orchestral backing at some point in their career, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has mastered it. Their rock operas have produced five hit albums and tour dates with amazing pyrotechnics and lighting effects. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is best known for its annual Christmas-themed tour every fall and winter, which adds an edge to primarily dated holiday music. This year is no exception, as Trans-Siberian Orchestra prepares for its winter 2011 tour dates beginning in November.
Paul O'Neill had worked in the music industry a long time, developing a relationship with the progressive metal band, Savatage, as a co-writer and producer and bonding over their fusion of classical music and hard rock. O'Neill eventually started his own band and recruited Jon Oliva, Robert Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli to produce rock operas, their first being Christmas Eve and Other Stories. The themed album and following tour dates were so successful that Trans-Siberian Orchestra decided to repeat the winning on The Christmas Attic and The Lost Christmas Eve, thus completing their "Christmas Trilogy." Not limiting their operas to just one season, Trans-Siberian Orchestra released Beethoven's Last Night, which combines fact and fiction to tell the tale of Beethoven's deal with the devil the night he finished his tenth symphony. Trans-Siberian Orchestra's latest album, Night Castle, tells the story of a soldier, his true love that he knew for just one night, and the daughter he never met. The album went gold inside a year and has proven to audiences that the band's rock operas contain truly great stories.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is currently gearing up for its 2011 tour dates, which begin on November 11. The tour will visit most of the US and a few cities in Canada, staging multiple performances each day for nearly two solid months. The tour will end on December 30, with tickets going on sale soon. Events, venues, calendars and groups that are private but shareable are also known as semi-private. That is, they are not searchable in Eventful but anyone you share the URL with can view it. ICAL (short for iCalendar) is a standard calendar format that allows you to transfer events from one calendar to another via an .ics file format. An .ics file can have a single event or a list of events. You can download the .ics file and import it into your calendar for a snapshot of the data or you can subscribe and let your calendar program update the event data in your calendar automatically.
CSV
CSV (short for "comma-separated values") is a simple data format that many programs, such as Microsoft Excel, use for importing and exporting data.
You can import a list of events into Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo! Calendar, and other tools by using this CSV file.
RSS
RSS is a regularly updated summary of events that can be viewed through an RSS reader, along with links to full versions of events. When you subscribe to an RSS feed of events, you'll receive a summary of new events through your RSS reader. When you click on an RSS button, your browser may display a page of web code; if this happens, review your reader's documentation on how to subscribe to an RSS feed.
RSS readers are as numerous as the stars on a clear night during a concert at the park. To find a reader, try Google or ask your friends what they use.
